My heart soars over distant oceans…
Each of us — every human that graces the earth — has been endowed with a unique, individual combination of talents and abilities. They spring forth readily, lithe extensions of our souls. To our minds they represent a familiar, even integral portion of our being not unlike breathing, or a beating heart. Tragically, in our appreciation for others’ faculties, we commonly err in believing that our own native endowments cannot possess equivalent value… and only because they come to us so easily.
As creators in miniature raised from the same stock as the Creator, it is our nature to produce abundantly out of our hearts and minds. Spirit may be suppressed, punished, and buried under layers of social agreements, peer denigration, or even monstrous authoritarian regimes. However, even the most hollowed-out psyche cannot help but continually exuding new light. That light may be unceremoniously dumped into a darkened pit full of buried dreams, but its production remains inevitable.
As we adhere to the natural laws that govern joy, we discover that a large measure is found in perfecting and proffering the fruits of our soul. With the billions that lay before us, we cannot predict who will take delight in that fruit. However, a myriad of lives will unavoidably be nourished — if we but hone our talents and unceasingly lay them before the world. This free exchange increases wealth in alls its guises: material, spiritual, familial, intellectual, &c. Few wrongs under Heaven or Earth exceed the gross selfishness of hiding one’s light from one’s fellow Man, regardless of the supposed justification.
Shine, and brightly.
